What is
Hypnosis? Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation used to calm the
constant chatter of our conscious mind. When we slow down the thoughts of
our conscious mind we can talk with our subconscious mind which is where our
beliefs, emotions and memories are stored. What is Hypnotherapy? When we experience this state of hypnosis or "sleep
like state" hypnotherapy can take place. During hypnotherapy we use
guided imagery along with suggestions that you want the hypnotherapist to make
during the session to change behaviors, habits, feelings and even your physical
body. With the conscious mind focused on the imagery, your subconscious
mind is open to receive these positive suggestions for change.
Can I Be Hypnotized? Do you want to be hypnotized? Everyone can experience
hypnosis, if they want to. In fact, we enter self hypnosis several times
a day like when we are driving, watching TV, reading a book or playing a video game.
We have all experienced a time when we drove somewhere to realize that we don't
even remember how we got there. This is because your mind remembers how
to get to where you are going, you have been there many times before and it
just repeats the pattern, all the while you were focused on something
else. As long as you can focus your mind on the images being suggested,
during hypnotherapy, you can experience hypnosis. However, everyone will
experience hypnosis differently.
Why Hypnotherapy? As mentioned above in the example of
driving somewhere without thinking about it, we follow a similar pattern with
other behaviors, tasks and thoughts in our life. We repeat the same thing
so many times that we do it subconsciously without even thinking about it until
it becomes a habit. Smoking, eating, thinking negatively, speaking
negatively, being angry, being stressed, etc. At the Hypnosis Center of
Scottsdale, we can help you to retrain your thought pattern to help change
behaviors, habits, emotions, as well as how your body physically
responds. |
